Nine in fight for seat of Melbourne

Nine candidates will contest the seat of Melbourne at the federal election on May 21.

The top position on the ballot paper went to United Australia Party's Justin Borg.

The order was determined by lottery at the offices of the AEC.

Labor candidate Keir Paterson won the number two position, above Greens leader and sitting member Adam Bandt.

The other candidates and their order on the paper are:

James Damches, Liberal, 4; Richard Peppard, Liberal Democratic Party, 5; Scott Robson, Independent, 6; Walter Stragan, One Nation, 7; Bruce Poon, Animal Justice Party, 8; and Colleen Bolger, Victorian Socialists, 9.
