LEAPS AND BOUNDS

The daily sunset performance by Deborah Cheetham AO of The Rivers Sing at the Collingwood Children's Farm continues this week (5pm Wednesday, July 13 to Sunday, July 17). Also on the program are the Op Shop Piano Rhapsodies, an event which will see pianos installed outside Richmond Town Hall, the Salvos Stores in Abbotsford, 'The Conscious Closet' pop-up shop at 513 Bridge Rd and in Fitzroy and Brunswick. The pianos will host surprise concerts by professional artists and will also be available to the public. Also running for 10 days from Friday, Rhythm and Line by Tokyo-based artists FLIGHTGRAF will see the Richmond Town Hall host a projection and sound work focused on the experimental music of Hungarian composer Franz Liszt. In this lecture researcher Shane Carmody will tell the story of rediscovering James Goold and his impact on the creation of our city, including Goold's greatest monument, St Patrick's Cathedral, the largest neo-gothic cathedral completed in the 19th century.
