Salvos seeking winter woollies
The Salvation Army's op shop arm Salvos Stores is appealing for contributions of warm clothes to cover increased demand and a serious downturn in donations this winter.
The have two local outlets - Victoria Crescent, Abbotsford, and Victoria St, Richmond.
"This is the quickest we've ever sold through our winter stock," central area manager Shauna Harding told the Inner East Review.
Salvos Stores is offering the incentive of a 20 per cent discount voucher, which can be used in-store or online, for donating warm, winter items such as jumpers, jackets and beanies.
The organisation raises $39 million every year for The Salvation Army's frontline work around the country, which helps more than one million people.
