ORGAN RECITAL

Performer and composer Thomas Grubb plays selected works on the Grand Organ at St Patrick's. Pieces by Buxtehude, Froberger, Bach, Greenbaum, Mendelssohn and Newcombe and the premiere performance of Stuart Greenbaum's 2019 Sonata for Organ, 'Transport Abandoned', which references the 2016 book Abandoned Places. Opening tomorrow, (Thurs, August 4) the Melbourne International Film Festival returns after a disrupted couple of years with a bumper 70th edition program featuring 81 world premieres, 61 films direct from Cannes and a 'Melbourne on Film' retrospective that includes Dogs in Space, Death in Brunswick, Bonjour Balwyn, The Home Song Stories, Monkey Grip, Malcolm and The Rise and Fall of Squizzy Taylor, among many others.
