Sydney Swans veteran Josh Kennedy has suffered another suspected hamstring injury, casting doubt on his AFL future.
Kennedy walked off the field during the Swans' VFL clash with North Melbourne at Arden St on Sunday.
The 34-year-old has been pressing for a recall to the Swans' AFL 22, after being an unused sub in last week's thumping Sydney derby win over GWS.
Kennedy has not had any AFL game time since injuring his hamstring in the round 10 loss against Carlton, but has been playing well in the reserves.
On Monday, Swans coach John Longmire declared sentiment would play a role in deciding whether Kennedy will be given the chance to play on next year and reach his 300-game milestone.
Kennedy, who has played 290 games, is out of contract at season's end, but Longmire hasn't closed the door on the veteran continuing on.
"I had a brief chat with him a couple of weeks ago about how he's feeling about it," Longmire told reporters last Monday.
"He said, 'all I want to do is get back and play this year'.
"He's very much a live-in-the-moment type of person."
