The Cowra Blues AFL Club go into the mid season break with first grade undefeated recording eight straight wins. Last week against the Bathurst Giants was an opportunity to work on some on field strategies with some players in different positions. In wet and muddy conditions the Blues prevailed by 90 points with Luke Le Page best on ground, closely followed by David and Nathan Kacarovski, who must be considered as two of the most promising players unearthed in the past few years. The under 18s team see the break as a much needed rest as their form has been patchy this year, but they are still looking at a top four finish. Many of the under 18s are backing up in first grade and this is reaping rewards in terms of commitment and ability on the field. The Blues female team traveled to Young for even wetter conditions where they showed plenty of spirit but ultimately went down to the Saints. The girls will soon take some training sessions indoors at Cowra Health Club to escape the cold nights so any prospective female players out there can come along and meet the team in a great environment. The juniors are always looking for new players in the under 12s and under 14s and are getting better every week. The under 12s won a nailbiter against the Bathurst Bushrangers last start and will be looking forward to the next Eagle Boys pizza night at training after the mid season break. Any kids interested in 12s, 14s or even Auskick (up to 10 years) can come down to Mulyan Oval on training night. Next first grade game is against Dubbo at Mulyan Oval on Saturday, June 18 at 2.30pm. Go Blues.
