LEAPS AND BOUNDS

In the final week of Yarra's Leaps and Bounds Festival the Op Shop Piano Rhapsodies continue, with pianos outside Richmond Town Hall, the Salvos Stores in Abbotsford and 'The Conscious Closet' pop-up shop at 513 Bridge Rd hosting surprise professional concerts and available to the public to play. Richmond Community Learning Centre is running a "first class free" offer for term three classes in Yin Yoga, Zumba Gold, Qigong and Yarra Song Birds sessions. Qigong (Thurs 6.30-7.30pm) combines breath, mindfulness and flowing postures. Yin yoga (5-6pm Sundays) is a slower paced, restful class involving four or five long yoga poses. Zumba Gold (Fridays 10-11am) is a fun and friendly low-impact class combining dance and fitness moves. Yarra Songbirds (Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm) is a casual, fun singing group. www.rclc.org.au

WORKING WITH WOOD

This Learn Local course at Burnley Backyard provides an introduction to working with timber and a range of tools and will see students make a trivet and a small planter box. It includes theory and practice and provides pathways into a range of training and employment options, as well as a learning space for those who want to learn woodwork as a hobby. 5.30pm Wednesday, July 27-August 31. $190/$170.

UKRAINIAN FILM

ACMI, FED SQUARE

Award-winning 2019 Ukrainian film Atlantis is a post-apocalyptic love story set in Eastern Ukraine in 2025 after the country has emerged victorious from its war with Russia. Its roles were played by veterans, volunteers, and soldiers rather than actors.
