The 70th Melbourne International Film Festival has 11 days left to run (finishing on Sun, Aug 21) with hundreds of films still to screen across various venues - for example, on Thursday (Aug 18) at 9pm The Lost City of Melbourne, a "loving and revelatory work of local history" which features rare video and photography of Melbourne's architectural and social past. Historian Claire Levi will give a talk this Sunday about Bridge Rd's colourful history and the installation of the historical plaques between Hoddle and Church streets.
