Australian football legends will be coming home in May for three exhibition matches to be played in Melbourne.

Homegrown Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou will return to Australia for the first time with his new team to face off against fellow Premier League giants Newcastle United at the MCG.

Here are some of our favourite netbusters and screamers from A-League Men and Women.

The match will be played on May 22 before the A-league all-stars showdown on Friday May 24 at Marvel Stadium.

An A-League men's all-stars team will also face off against Newcastle United as part of Global Football Week Melbourne.

Matildas' Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross will be joining their Women's Super League team Arsenal making its debut Down Under playing an exhibition match against an A-league all-stars team.

This is the first time a women's A-league all-stars team has been assembled and will give non-European Matildas Olympic hopefuls some crucial game time and a chance to put their name forward for selection.

After her stellar performance with the Matildas during their games against Uzbekistan, Canberra United Captain Michelle Heyman is expected to make an appearance.
