Police are investigating after a body was found floating in waters near Sydney's Star Casino in Darling Harbour.

At about 7.30am on April 26 emergency services were called to Pirrama Wharf in Pyrmont after a body was spotted.

Police retrieved the body of a male.

He is yet to be formally identified but police say he is aged in his fifties.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the man's death with police inquiries ongoing.

The Star is a 24-hour casino and attracts more than 10 million visitors every year.
