Mitchell Horan charged after police seize bestiality, child abuse materials

A man who allegedly had more than 160 child abuse videos and photos has been granted bail in Wollongong Local Court.

Mitchell Horan, 25, faced court on Friday after police raided his home and seized devices, including one video that allegedly contained bestiality material.

"Police will allege the devices contained more than 100 video files, more than 60 images that classify as child abuse material," NSW Police said in a statement.

In August 2023, police received information a man was allegedly trading child abuse material online.

"Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home yesterday [Thursday, November 16], seizing several electronic devices which will be forensically examined," police said. Horan was arrested and faced court on charges of possess child abuse material, and person possesses bestiality material.

The Lake Heights man was granted conditional bail on Friday and will appear at the same court on December 5.
