Victoria has been declared the hot cross bun capital of Australia in 2024.
Coles has sold more than 49 million of the Easter treats since Boxing Day with millions more expected to fly off shelves on the long weekend.
With more than 13 million sold, Victoria led the states and territories for the most buns sold to March 26.
The Coles bakery on the outskirts of Melbourne at Taylors Hill had sold more hot cross buns than anywhere else in the country, serving up more than 26,000 packs.
The Sunshine state was hot on Victoria's tail with more than 12 million hot cross buns sold statewide, followed by NSW with 10 million buns.
Traditional fruit and chocolate were the top two flavours among shoppers in every state except South Australia.

The southern state instead showed a preference for fruit free buns which ranked second most popular.
"It's incredible to see the passion and enthusiasm from our customers enjoying buns in great numbers," Coles bakery general manager Kate Roff said.
"We're always up for some friendly competition between the states - but Victorians have claimed victory as the hot cross bun capital this Easter season."
